Product description
GLASS BEADS
Glass beads are typically produced using the flame flotation method, which is a secondary molding technique. The basic principle involves breaking waste glass into particles of a specific size and then introducing these particles into a flame. Under the influence of the flame, the glass particles soften, melt, and mold into shape. Afterward, they are annealed, resulting in the formation of glass beads.
PRODUCT TYPES:
- Sandblasting glass beadsare used as abrasive material for surface finishing, particularly to smooth metal surfaces.
- Road marking glass beadsare used in road markings, playing an increasingly vital role in enhancing highway safety.
- Grinding glass beadsserve as grinding media and filler materials in the paint and coating industry, especially in drying applications.
PRODUCT APPLICATIONS:
- Finishing:Glass beads can be used on a wide variety of materials, including metals, glass, plastics, and rubber.
- Cleaning:Glass bead blasting effectively removes foreign substances without altering the dimensional integrity of the surface.
- Deburring:Glass bead blasting can smooth out burrs and feathered edges, making parts ready for assembly and operation, while ensuring no base metal is removed from the surface.
- Peening:Peening helps extend the lifespan of metal parts by addressing stress cracks and preventing corrosion.
As for road marking glass beads, more than two-thirds of our annual global production—representing the largest single use of our products worldwide—is dedicated to highway delineation and guidance systems.
